Lemonade.

This is just a quick post! I found a pin on Pinterest (you’ll find it on my “Drink Up” board) for this delicious sounding warm weather refresher called Brazilian Lemonade. Unfortunately, Burnsville is apparently in high demand of limes because there were only two left at the store! So I decided to get a little creative and I modified it to get the most AMAZING lemonade! It seriously is one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted and I love that I can control the amount of sugar that I add and I know it’s all fresh, organic fruit without added preservatives! April Showers.

The saying goes “April showers bring May flowers”. Seemed rather suitable tonight as we got our first major thunderstorm of the season. There’s something about thunderstorms that intrigues me. They scare me a bit, because they have so much power- we should never forget that the power of destruction held by humankind, no matter how devastating, is nothing compared to the power that Mother Nature has the ability to unleash upon us. The thing about the universe’s power is that there is no one we can try to negotiate with, nothing we can do to stop it once it decides to start. Continue reading

Why Clouds Are Okay.

So now that we are officially into spring, it comes as no surprise to those of us who live in the colder climates that it is heavily snowing today. Many are complaining. I’m not. The temperature is still plenty warm for this time of year, and it’s a thick, wet snow which is my favorite kind. One of my huskies loves to eat the snow, but the other has a fascination with balls – snowballs included. Although being pregnant I don’t have quite as much energy to keep up with her, I still love watching my boyfriend toss up snowballs for her to catch, soon followed by the confusion of where the ball went when it crashes and falls apart. I love their enjoyment of simple nature. Continue reading

Happy Spring.

It’s officially spring. Something about today seemed to remove a huge amount of stress. Maybe it’s that with winter ending I don’t feel so trapped as we welcome warmer, fresh air into our days.
