Why Bad is Good.

Free Spirit Babe // Why Bad is Good

Sometimes bad things happen, heartbreaking even. But you know what? Those things can be turned into opportunities. We recently were told that if we choose to stay in our home, that we would have to give up our dogs. Our association has received a number of complaints about them, mostly based off of stereotypes around huskies. Our dogs are well trained, so it’s unfortunate that we have to choose between our first home (which I still am in love with) and our dogs. However, our dogs are family and no matter how much I love our house, what fun is it to live next to neighbors who can’t accept our family? So now we’ve got new goals for the short term future that I’m beyond excited about. Continue reading

Yoga Thoughts: On Human Rights.

Free Spirit Babe // Yoga Thoughts: On Human Rights.

So far this weekend I’ve been laboring away at my designs for Peace Apparel Company which I plan on re-launching in the next couple of weeks. Fitness Re-Motivation.

Free Spirit Babe // Fitness Re-Motivation

We all have our reasons why we live a fit and healthy lifestyle (or if you don’t – then why you should!). We have a driver that pushes us to return to our practice of yoga, lifting, running, or whatever your preferred workout may be, but that really isn’t the difficult part. The difficult part is when you start to reach the “line”. You know what I’m talking about – when you cross the line of comfort and you start burning, breathing heavy and break into an uncomfortable sweat; AKA the part where you want to stop.

That’s the part where we need more than the overall goal – whether it be weight loss, toning up, or bulking up. That goal slowly drops in value and we need to remember the smaller, more specific benefits that can help give us some short-term, instant gratification drive: we need re-motivation.
